6 pcs eggs, large

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting

½ tsp baking powder

For Serving:

2 tbsp powdered sugar, for the entire cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a mixing bowl attached to a hand beater, beat eggs and sugar together until it doubles in volume, pale and light, roughly 8 to 10 minutes. Set aside.

Sift together flour and baking powder.

Fold the flour mixture into your egg mixture until evenly incorporated.

Pour into your dusted cake tin and bake for roughly 25 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.

Once baked, allow the sponge cake to cool completely at room temperature.

Remove the springform brace once the sponge cake has cooled down. You can serve this as is, or trim the top and use it as a base for another cake.

Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
