Greek Butter Cookies are a delightful, traditional, sweet ending to a Greek Dinner Party. You’ll find these cookies if you visit Greece, but it’s much easier to bake your own at home!

Ingredients needed:

salted butter white sugar egg vanilla extract almond extract all purpose flour powdered sugar chocolate and nuts (optional)

How to make Greek Butter Cookies:

The full, printable recipe is at the end of this post. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Use a mixer to combine the butter, sugar and egg. Then mix in the almond and vanilla extracts. Flour is mixed in next. The dough will be thick, so you may need to knead it a bit with (clean) hands to get the dough to come together. Spoon out tablespoonfuls of dough and roll them into 4-inch logs. Curl them to make a crescent shape. Place them on the baking sheets, and then bake for 10 minutes, or until browned and firm.  Let your Greek Butter Cookies cool completely. Then roll them in powdered sugar. Alternately, you can dip them in melted chocolate and edge them in nuts.
