How to make an Incredible Apple Pie:
The complete, printable recipe is at the end of this post. The first step is making the crust. You can use a store-bought crust, if you’d like- but homemade will be better! In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Add the shortening and cut it into the flour mixture using a pastry blender. The flour mixture should be in pea-size granules. Add the water, 1 or 2 tablespoons at a time, mixing well until a ball of dough forms.
The buttery crumbs bake into the apples and help it turn out to be a fabulous topping for this apple pie!
As you can see, there are plenty of apples in this pie. That’s another reason why it’s an incredible apple pie!
Slice, and serve when ready. It’s best if you can let the pie have a chance to cool completely to get a better cut. This pie can be made the day before serving. Just cover it and leave it at room temperature (or you can store it in the refrigerator, if you’d like).
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the top of your slice of apple pie to create the best dessert ever. Enjoy!
