Here’s the how-to:

You’ll need a big, juicy, fresh lime…

…and a bunch of fresh mint leaves.

You’ll need these two goodies, along with some ice cold club soda…

…and some sugar too.

It’s helpful to have a muddler, but if you don’t have one it’s okay… you can always use the end of a wooden spoon instead.

Squeeze lime juice into a cocktail shaker (or glass). The juice from half a lime will do.

Then add a small handful of mint leaves.

Muddle. That pretty much means, “smash them together.”

Pour in your rum.

Sprinkle in some sugar- as sweet as you desire.

Add some ice.

Put the lid on your cocktail shaker and shake away.

Strain into a glass.  A martini glass works well 🙂

Top off with a little bit of ice cold club soda.

A wedge of lime for garnish.

Add a drizzle of Creme de Menthe, which will sink to the bottom and make this drink look cool.

And there it is! The festive Irish Mojito! My husband and I both loved it. It’s much like a regular mojito with a little bit more of an added mint element to it. And I absolutely loved its festive look. Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day 🙂
