Making classic lasagna can be a bit of a chore when you’re just trying to make a weeknight dinner. So isn’t it cool that there’s a much easier way to make it? Try making this ravioli lasagna instead! Frozen cheese ravioli is used in place of traditional lasagna noodles. No cooking of the ravioli is needed. You’ll be using the ravioli totally frozen, and they will defrost and cook during the baking process.

Ingredients needed:

lean ground beef marinara sauce frozen cheese ravioli shredded mozzarella cheese shredded Parmesan cheese fresh basil

How to make Ravioli Lasagna:

The full, printable recipe is at the end of this post. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Spray the inside of an 8×8-inch casserole dish with nonstick spray. Line a baking tray with foil (bake the casserole on top of this to catch any drips as it cooks).

Spread ⅓ of the meat sauce on the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.

Layer ½ of the still-frozen ravioli on top of the sauce.

Spread ⅓ of the meat sauce on top of the ravioli.

Spread ½ of the mozzarella, and then ½ of the parmesan on top of the meat sauce.

Layer the remaining ½ of the still-frozen ravioli on top of the sauce.

Spread the remaining ⅓ of the meat sauce on top of the ravioli.

Spread the remaining ½ of the mozzarella, and then the remaining ½ of the parmesan on top of the meat sauce.

Spoon out individual servings. This recipe will serve 4 to 6 people, depending on how large the servings are. In my family, it would serve four!  I suggest sprinkling a little Parmesan cheese on top. Enjoy!

Hot tip!

A little tip for this recipe is to make sure you choose a kind of ravioli that you know you like. That can have everything to do with how this ravioli lasagna turns out. I really like the large, round cheese ravioli. They have good noodle coverage for making the lasagna layers, and they’re large enough to have a substantial filling inside of them.
